Join us for the evening as we enjoy this group of short films and and discuss these environmental issues within a local context.
The first film, 'Los Plastico', talks about this group of surfers looking for the biggest waves in the world to surf on the remote and isolated island of Alejandro Selkirk. Exploring among giants, surfers Kohl Christensen, Ramón Navarro, Patricio Mekis and Léa Brassy found bigger treasures than they expected. See how these outsiders discover a small group of people that have made big wins to protect their local environment.
The next two films (Estado Salmonero & Saving Martha) dig into issues around salmon farming in Chile and in Tasmania and the impacts they have on the surrounding environment.
Also joining us for the evening will be Swim, Drink, Fish and Georgian Bay Forever as they talk about their environmental work in and around the Great Lakes and our friends from Surf The Greats.
Goodlot Brewery will be tapping their kegs, so bring your own cup (or buy one of ours) to experience their farm-raised beer and enjoy some tasty treats from Vert Catering.
Hope to see you there!
